Anmerkungen des Autors:
Will from now on only write when Alcohol seems to be a major problem.

Having not written for days, I once again feel like laying down my thoughts for eternity. The concept of this diary shall change now, since I have begun to try to change.
One cannot protect one from himself, yet one can protect another from himself. Feeling the need to do the latter, feeling the need to protect Marie, I’ve laid down the friend in his grave. I have accomplished four days, not without the help of other drugs be assured, but I have accomplished four days.
And tomorrow the most dangerous aspect of Alcohol, the social one, is going to catch up with me, will first fight duels with my strength and will then triumph and either make me happy or despaired. Jack London tells more stories about the social danger of Alcohol than I ever could, therefore I will not write too much about it. London furthermore describes how John Barleycorn tried to kill him many a time.
I’ve come to think differently. Even if the friend is just another incorporation of death, he doesn’t whisper to me anymore. A slow path of deterioration becomes inevitable in the moment I go out to see friends in a bar or at a party. There is no fun in going out, once you have given your hand to the friend, except if you drink. Should I hide from the world, should I invite people to my flat, because no alcohol can be found in it. No I shouldn’t hide, and accordingly tomorrow I will lay my hand in his, watching him chew.
