A path, which may suddenly end, to understanding an alcoholic.

Once there was a time
When I knew how to dream
When hope still lived in me
And even the slightest scheme
Was acceptable as mine
All I have for a dream today
Of others or born in my mind
Is a cynical painful smile
When it can not be defined
Or at least outlined the way
And now I\'m looking around
For an irrational gleam
In this cold, burned reality
I\'m dreaming of a dream
But it cannot be found.
