“You have visitors scheduled for today.” That’s great, visitors. “Could someone please tell me first what the fuck is wrong with me. What do I care for visitors? I want to know if smoking finally has caught up with me, I want to know if Alcohol has finally got me somewhere seriously.” But as I can’t ask questions, because of this damnable drug, I am forced to wait and see how this episode of my life develops. Probably the smoking I think, have had that pain in my lungs for too long now, and the asthma surely didn’t help. They must have put me on strong painkiller, with weird side effects. The woman, who is apparently a nurse, gives me a last warm smile, probably reserved all day for the patients, and leaves the room. I lie there and wait, nothing I can do, nothing I can say, but only think. “It is quite nice, I reckon, for the first time in my life I have time for all the thoughts I want to think, yet somehow it is scary.” As the position in which I lie becomes slightly uncomfortable again, with all efforts I try to move, but cannot move a single millimetre. Yet even though this brings me close to despair, I try to distract myself from the effects of the drug and look at the clock at the opposite wall. It is 7:10 am by now, and I watch the seconds go by, one by one.
